A Final Farewell

With mixed emotions I must announce that this week will be my final week at Gospel 90.3 FM. I have accepted an Associate Pastor’s role at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Trafalgar, IN under the direction of Pastor Jeff Hopson. This is a decision that my wife and I have made after much time, prayer, and counsel. We are excited and confident that this is God’s plan for our lives.

It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work at Gospel 90.3 FM for the last 5 1/2 years. We have seen many exciting things during our time here and we know that there will be many more great times ahead for this ministry We appreciate all of the faithful listeners who have been such a blessing to us over the years. Gospel 90.3 is certainly blessed with some great listeners.

In parting, I would like to ask your prayers for my family as we make final preparations to depart for Indiana one week from today. Please pray for safety on the road for us and our possessions.

Once again, it’s been a pleasure and a privilege, and if I don’t meet you here, I’ll meet you There.

God Bless!

A Miracle From God

Last month we informed you of the miracle offering scheduled for Sunday, August 2 at the Landmark Baptist Church. The goal was $150,000 to fund some important projects around the ministry. This was quite a large sum to raise especially during the summer months. Well, the Lord blessed in a mighty way. God’s people gave over $255,000! Needless to say, that was quite a miracle. Praise the Lord for his provision.

We appreciate all the prayers you offered to the Lord on our behalf. Once again we are reminded that it is not our work, but the Lord’s.

O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. – Is. 25:1

Pray for the Miracle Offering!

Let me request your urgent prayers for a special “Miracle Offering” to take place on Sunday, August 2, at the Landmark Baptist Church. This miracle offering is reminiscent of a similar offering taken in 1976 in which God miraculously met the financial needs of the church. Ever since, that offering has been known as the “Miracle Offering.” Well, the church has decided to do it again by having a second “Miracle Offering.” This offering is also designed to meet some special needs of the Landmark Baptist Church and its ministries. The goal is set at $150,000! This would truly be a miracle to raise this amount during the summer.

This offering will have a direct effect on our listeners as some of the funds will go to restoring our signal power close to its original range. As most of you are already aware, our signal area has not been as good as it used to be for some time now. We were leasing space on a radio tower until the owners decided to dismantle the tower. We then got authorization to place an antenna on the top of our college building on a temporary basis. We now have the opportunity to get on another tower, but this tower needs some work. The work can only be done by professionals and it will cost anywhere from $25,000 – $30,000. We are excited at this new development and are asking that you pray that God will meet the need. We believe that by broadcasting from this new tower site we will be able to restore most of our original coverage area.

Many listeners have called and asked what they might do to help with our signal situation. We have simply asked for your prayers and patience as this situation was one that would require both time and money. Now we are in a position to see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel as we believe this new setup will be the best resolution to our current situation.

Please pray and partner with us to make this goal happen. We are excited to see how God will help us overcome this challenge.

Live Video Streaming of Landmark Services

I just received the word this week that the services of the Landmark Baptist Church are now officially being streamed live at the church website. After a successful test run last Sunday, the streaming feature has been deemed prepared to launch.

With a few exceptions, every service of the Landmark Baptist Church will be streamed live at the actual time of the service. This is a great opportunity for folks who are unable to be present to still enjoy the service.

Also available at the church website is a media page containing video and audio downloads of previous services. This is particularly useful for folks who listen to audio during their daily commute, and others who are seasonal residents but wish to remain in touch with what is happening at Landmark Baptist Church.

Check out these new features as well as many other features available at www.LandmarkBaptistChurch.org.

Lori & Kevin Go To Hawaii

Early yesterday morning Lori & Kevin Hart hopped on a flight from Orlando to the state of Hawaii. They have surrendered to be missionaries to Hawaii and are taking a survey trip for the next couple of weeks. Kevin was stationed in Hawaii for three years while in the U.S. Navy and has a burden to go back and reach those people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pray that their trip would go smoothly and they would get an accurate assessment of what it will take to begin their missionary work in that state. Also pray that no coconuts fall on their heads. :)

Happy 4th of July!

The station office will be closed tomorrow in celebration of our nation’s birthday, but let me invite you to tune in Friday and Saturday for some great patriotic music mixed in with the great gospel tunes you’ve come to know and love here on Gospel 90.3. On Saturday listen for some great patriotic liners and quotes as well as the patriotic music. We hope you and yours have a wonderful 4th of July.

Happy Independence Day!
